Frequently asked questions
Practical answers for brand owners and distributors who want to develop a microbial product under their own brand.
Questions
Briefly answered
What does Microbac do?
Microbac develops microbial products for brand owners and distributors, with microbiological expertise, its own strain bank, formulation and quality control.
Who does Microbac work for?
For brand owners, distributors and wholesalers in agriculture and horticulture, home and garden, potting soil and growing media, ponds and aquariums, wastewater and aquaculture.
Can I buy products as a private individual?
No, Microbac supplies businesses only. If you are a private individual looking for a product for your pond, take a look at BIOGRO: our brand of pond bacteria, which does sell to private customers.
Can a product be developed under my own brand?
Yes: as white label, private label or custom development. Composition, product form and feasibility are confirmed per project. See the three routes
What is the difference between white label, private label and custom development?
With white label, you bring an existing, fully developed formulation to market under your own brand. With private label, we adapt an existing base to your brand and your market. With custom development, we develop a new product from your application requirements.
Which product forms can be discussed?
Liquid, concentrate, powder, granules and tablet. Organism, formulation and packaging determine what is feasible.
Are smaller commercial batches possible?
Yes, for example for a market introduction or a specialised product line. We discuss volume and planning per project.
How does Microbac check quality?
We check every batch for quality and for CFU (colony-forming units): a measure of the viable microorganisms in the product that can form colonies.
How long does a project take?
That depends on the route, the application and the product form. We discuss the planning per project.
Can Microbac assess an international project?
Yes. Target-market requirements, documentation and registration differ per country; we discuss these in advance.
What do I send with a first enquiry?
Your organisation and market, the application and your specific question, and, if known, the preferred product form and an indication of volume. Get in touch
